Dover, Far South Tasmania

This fishing village is a great base to explore the nearby attractions of Hastings Caves, Ida Bay Railway, Tahune AirWalk and Southwest National park or just sit and take in the breathtaking serenity of Dover Bay. This truly is absolute waterfront! You are just a few steps away from the beach where you can stroll along the shores of this natural setting. Unwind the day watching the sunset colours light up the islands of Faith, Hope and Charity. Enjoy the company of seabirds, swans, dolphins, or the occasional seal. Maybe throw a line to catch tonight’s dinner.
Dover is home to many fishing families and their catches - crayfish, abalone, and many types of wild fish are brought in from our clear southern waters. Atlantic salmon is farmed and harvested here in Esperance Bay as well as shellfish such as oysters, mussels and scallops. Many are exported worldwide and, being a seasonal catch, some are only available at certain times of the year.

For supplies, there is a national supermarket and well-stocked IGA in Huonville as well as the Dover Grocer and IGA nearby to Tides Reach.   Make your choice and relax with a glass of local wine while you cook up a feast on the barbeque provided!
