Pelverata Falls is one of the tallest and most amazing waterfalls in the southern part of the island state of Tasmania. At astounding 114 m (374 ft) in height, and it is located in the mountains between the small towns of Pelverata, Snug and Cygnet. The falls are fed from the Snug Tiers but the catchment area is quite small with low water absorbency. This means whenever the weather is rainy, the waterfall quickly reaches spectacular flows, which return to low flows within a couple of days. The best time to visit this amazing place is in winter and spring when the falls have the highest amount of water.
