Things to do in Tasmanian during Autumn
Natures Autumn Changes
This is Fungi season. Enjoy the spectacular miniature displays on several walks that visit wet forests:
Home Hill Winery, Ranelagh
It is picking time when the grapes become ready in Autumn. With award-winning wines and a menu overflowing with fresh local and Tasmanian produce, Home Hill Winery is a premier dining destination in the Huon Valley.
The restaurant has won numerous awards for its delicious menu, with lunch served between 12pm – 3pm (please check days on website). The cellar door is open for tastings 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm.
Mount Misery Rainforest and Waterfall Walk
Spectacular fungi abounds in the wet forest of Mount Misery.
From the car park at Huon Bush Retreats, take the loop track, rainforest spur and waterfall spur. Most people with a moderate level of fitness will complete this walk in around 3-4 hours including breaks. Allow plenty of extra time for fungi photos.
Once we get a bit of rain, the waterfalls will return to their free flowing state.
