Regular Markets in Southern Tasmania

Hobart's famous Salamanca Market is firmly focused on visitors to Tasmania. You can find a great range of quality Tasmanian made souvenirs, artworks as well as fresh produce which is mainly purchased by locals. The other markets are more aimed at locals but you can often find a great little treasure to remind you of Tasmania.

Judbury Market

Picture
The Judbury Market is a vibrant market held each month about 15 minutes drive upriver from the Huonville Bridge. Judbury is a very beautiful part of the Huon Valley and the market is well worth a visit. There ar...e quality market stalls selling a variety of freshly baked slices, cakes, gourmet jams, relishes, jewelry, plants, clothing and home made arts and crafts and much more. The Market’s Promotions Manager Skye Carpenter Flynn said “Make sure you come along to our lovely Market this Sunday, we have real coffee, devonshire tea, delicious Asian inspired curries and a BBQ where you can get a real burger.”
The Judbury Market is a Community Market organized by a group of dedicated volunteers. The Market supports the local community whenever possible and shops locally as much as they can. When available, local produce is used in the Kitchen and BBQ. “All our meat is purchased from Geeveston’s award winning butcher ‘JB Nicholas and Sons’ including the amazing meat trays we used as prizes on our Chocolate Wheel.” Skye went on to say.
The Judbury Market is a market that the whole family can enjoy. There is the lovely playground, free kids craft activities and face painting from the amazing Mona Lisa face painting. Buskers will entertaining market goers through out the day including local singer/song writer Imogen. Imogen is an emerging artist from the Huon Valley who plays a unique and refreshing blend of original music. Beautiful vocals combined with melodic guitar are far beyond her years.
The Judbury Market and Car Boot sale are on the second Sunday of each month, 10am-2pm in Judbury’s much loved Calvert Park (the Tree House Park). The Judbury Market’s are very easy to find: after the Huonville Bridge, turn right down Glen Huon Road, just after the Judbury Bridge on the left you will find Calvert Park.
