Tourism Providers
Promote and sell your tourism related product here.
Huon Valley Escapes (HVE) operates a listing and booking service for selected accommodation, and activities, south from Hobart Tasmania, Australia. We can provide holiday accommodation management services to properties in Hobart, Chanel, Bruny, Huon Valley or Far South Tasmania.

Our focus is promoting and selling tourism services here on our own website, plus telephone and email guidance and itinerary creation. We keep our listing fees low by taking a commission on bookings made via our online, email and phone booking system.

We can also:
  • Develop your tourism product from scratch or upgrade
  • Distribute your product through third parties such as Wotif
  • Provide cleaning, inspection, management, and emergency services
  • Be your routine or emergency contact
  • Arrange accreditation
In general, your product will be re-branded as a Huon Valley Escape product and prospective consumers will be kept within our site and directed to our booking service. This is how we make most of our income, so in general, products promoted here do not have links out to the supplier website or direct contact details. However, advertisements with your own branding and outbound links are available for purchase.

Two ways to take bookings:
  • We pass the booking to you via your standard booking engine. This completes our service to the consumer and completes our contract with them. This creates a contract direct between you and the consumer.  This simple system means that the consumer becomes your own customer, you control when you get paid. We invoice you our commission periodically.
  • Or if we become your full property manager, we can include you  in our booking engine. We collect the full amount from the guest and pay you minus our commission periodically.
To discuss listing with us, please use the contact form below,
phone 0427 648465, or email info@huonvalleyescapes.com.au.

Where we promote Huon Valley Escapes

We promote HVE in a wide variety of mediums and markets. How much exposure your particular product receives from each of these methods depends on the level of membership that you have chosen. This is a major service that we provide to you. The efficiencies of scale mean that we can better present your product to more people at less cost than if small operators do it themselves.
Methods:
HVE Website (in 2022, around 1000 unique visitors per month)

How we promote your product

Our focus is promoting and selling tourism services here on our own website, plus telephone and email guidance and itinerary creation. We keep our listing
fees low by taking a commission on bookings made via our online, email and phone booking system.

In general, your product will be re-branded as a Huon Valley Escape product and prospective consumers will be kept within our website and directed to our telephone number, email and booking service. We build the customer and agent relationships until booking. This is how we make most of our income, so in general, products promoted here do not have links out to the supplier website or direct contact details. However, advertisements with your own branding and outbound links are available for purchase.

Additional services available for purchase

HVE continually seeks opportunities for promotions. HVE will usually promote the HVE brand and HVE branded products, but we can offer each member extra featured or incidental exposure.

Distribution of your branded collateral

We can display, distribute or even organise design and printing of your own branded leaflets. Locations can include consumer shows, agent meetings, visitor centres and so on.

Your Branded Advertisements

Because we make most of our income from commissions, we want consumers to book through us, so in general, there will be no outbound links. We can include paid advertisements with your branding and an outbound link to your own website.
These are charged at 3 cents per pixel per year on front page or 2 cents per pixel on other pages. We can produce the adds for you or you can supply them.

Membership Commitment Period

Tourism promotion has several differing lead times from differing promotion types:
  • Social media, e-newsletters, domestic advertising in mass media and domestic
consumer shows can bring about half their benefits in the first few months. The
other half comes over the following 12 to 18 months.Web sites take some time to
get Google traction so tend to provide results after about 6  months.
  • Agent representation takes repeated contacts over a year  or so before it brings substantial benefits.
  • Printed collateral brings most effect
during the busy season but has to be printed paid for and distributed in the months before that.
Given these lead times and that membership fees will not cover the costs of the long lead promotions, there is a requirement that we can continue to sell your product and collect consumer booking fees for a minimum of 18 months.

You can stop contributing payments to us at any time but you must continue to accept bookings that we send you and allow us to take our booking fee direct
from the consumer.

You can terminate this agreement at any time for a $1000 fee or if you permanently cease to operate the tourism product, but hey, why would you want to knock back a booking that we send you?

Supplier Membership Fees

Membership fees are generally designed to cover our standing costs such as website charges, printing, member administration and so on. We keep these fees as low as possible and obtain most of our income from booking fees. This minimises initial outlay for suppliers. We harvest all of this information from supplied or publicly available sources at our discretion. See annotated screenshots below.

There are several levels of membership:

Feature Members
$400 setup, $400/year membership fee (mix of about $200 cash plus about $200 full retail value free product for consumer giveaways)

Feature members are provided one image and 5 lines of text including heading on the website home page,  two images and 100 words on their sub region page and their experience type page plus they have their own feature product page with one feature and 12 gallery images, a map and 1000 words.

Basic Members

$200 setup, $200/year membership fee (mix of cash plus full retail value free product for consumer giveaways)

These are mentioned on their region page and their experience type page. See annotated screenshots below.

Free Listings

We want to attract a large amount of web traffic. Our strategy to do this is to become a note worthy source of information about The Huon Trail and the features it offers to holiday visitors. This will be achieved by including lots of generic information plus free listing of some services.

This will typically be things like attractions, where to buy food, or other services that are free or low cost etc. Competitors to feature members will not be listed for free.
