Overlooking the Huon River, just south from Huonville, is this genuine bed and breakfast where you are hosted in a modern private home. You have your own private bedroom and bathroom, shared living areas with your host, Rossy. True hosted bed and breakfasts where you meet the locals are few and far between. ArtHouse BnB lives up to its name with an eclectic collection of images and objects. There is a also a gallery onsite with many items for sale. Breakfast is included. It is a 15 minute walk into town where there are a range of eateries. Being set on the very edge of town, the surrounding rural landscapes are dotted with farm animals and apple orchards.

A great base to spend 2 or more nights to explore the waterways, wilderness, wildlife and wine of the Huon Valley, southern Tasmania. 40 minutes from Hobart, 50 minutes from Hartz Mountains National Park or Hastings Caves.

About this Bed and Breakfast ArtHouse in Huonville, southern Tasmania

Large modern open living style home set in a large garden on the edge of a rural area, but walking distance to town amenities. ArtHouse Bed and Breakfast features a large collection of art and craft with many paintings in every room.
Downstairs is a quality gallery selling paintings, craft, gifts, collectables and kimonos. Guinea Fowl roam the garden, and there are resident show quality desexed cats.
Views of the Huon River, and sometimes snow capped mountains in the distance.

A Few Rules
No pets, no parties, no children, no smoking.
​Checkin after 14:00, checkout by 10:00.

The space
This modern house displays a lifetime’s collection of art pieces which provide a continuous range of things to admire. From every room, there are wondrous mountain and valley views with rural life surrounding the area.
Outside the garden flows from color-coordinated areas to the backyard and beyond. There are areas of cottage garden, vegetables, native areas, fruit and nut trees, conifers, azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons as well as attempted areas of semitropical trees such as Illawarra Flame Tree, New South Wales Christmas Bush, Avacado, Guava, Fejoia, Jacaranda and more.

Guest access
Guests are free to wander the garden, sit on the decks and take in the view, drink real coffee in the living room, in the garden or on the deck with the cats, observe the Guinea Fowl, feed the chooks, or just vegetate with a book in the large open space living area. The bedroom and bathroom are your private spaces. The rest of the home is yours to share.

Breakfast included, Other meals can often be ordered
Eggs from our own chooks and coffee from the coffee machine are available free with breakfast. Other meals can be purchased if ordered in advance. Garden produce will be used when available and dietary restrictions followed. Seafood orders require 24 hours notice.

A well constructed walking track through rainforest with tall trees, sub alpine heathland to a secluded mountaintop. Return via a small waterfall. About 3 hours total return.

The restaurant has won numerous awards for its delicious menu, with lunch served between 12pm – 3pm (please check days on website). The cellar door is open for tastings 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm.

Huonville is the seat of the municipality of the Huon Valley, the most southerly Council area in Australia and has expanded since the 1980s as the commercial centre of the Huon Valley. Tourism is an important part of Huonville and the surrounding Huon Valley. The area is renowned for its scenic beauty and history as one of Australia's biggest apple producers.

Huonville is a town on the Huon River, in the south-east of Tasmania, Australia. The town lies within the Huon Valley Council area. It lies 38 km south of Hobart on the Huon Highway. At the 2006 census, Huonville had a population of 1,806
