It is a 15 minute walk into town where there are a range of eateries. Being set on the very edge of town, the surrounding rural landscapes are dotted with farm animals and apple orchards. A great base to spend 2 or more nights to explore the waterways, wilderness, wildlife and wine of the Huon Valley, southern Tasmania. 40 minutes from Hobart, 50 minutes from Hartz Mountains National Park or Hastings Caves. From every room, there are wondrous mountain and valley views with rural life surrounding the area. Outside the garden flows from color-coordinated areas to the backyard and beyond. There are areas of cottage garden, vegetables, native areas, fruit and nut trees, conifers, azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons as well as attempted areas of semitropical trees such as Illawarra Flame Tree, New South Wales Christmas Bush, Avacado, Guava, Fejoia, Jacaranda and more. Guest access Guests are free to wander the garden, sit on the decks and take in the view, drink real coffee in the living room, in the garden or on the deck with the cats, observe the Guinea Fowl, feed the chooks, or just vegetate with a book in the large open space living area. The bedroom and bathroom are your private spaces. The rest of the home is yours to share. Breakfast included, Other meals can often be ordered Eggs from our own chooks and coffee from the coffee machine are available free with breakfast. Other meals can be purchased if ordered in advance. Garden produce will be used when available and dietary restrictions followed. Seafood orders require 24 hours notice.
