​Our beautiful wooden cruiser is perfect for all conditions on the river. On a nice sunny day we also have a safe and roomy back deck to soak up the sun. If the weather is not so nice, the spacious and comfortable cabin has seating for everyone. For this intimate cruise we will start at the private dock at Heriots Point, make our way up the river towards the Historic township of Franklin observing and discovering the absolutely gorgeous natural and man made scenery and rich history of the area as we go.

Also available for private charters. Imagine ending the year in style, cruising down the river with your workmates, while sipping on a local wine or cider and snacking on an assortment of local produce made in Tasmania. Maybe a private romantic sunset cruise past your favourite spot on the river to celebrate your wedding anniversary is more your thing. Or maybe you want to arrive at your wedding at the beautiful Heriots Point Vineyard by water on board our stunning vessel.
This cruise is set to inspire you to imagine a life on the water and get a glimpse of the rich history of the area, the people and the fantastic wooden boats that inhabit the waterways of the Huon Valley. La Drone was built in 1948 on the Tamar River, Launceston, Tasmania. She is a 38ft motor cruiser/ passenger ferry and has worked and lived her whole life in Tasmania making her a historic vessel worthy of being published in the book 'Those that Survive'.
