Pelverata Falls is one of the tallest and most amazing waterfalls in the southern part of the island state of Tasmania. At astounding 114 m (374 ft) in height, and it is located in the mountains between the small towns of Pelverata, Snug and Cygnet.

Right on the garden edge or drive to nearby natural river and lake settings.
40 minutes drive to the track head at then 3 hours return walk through rainforest to a mountaintop and small waterfall.

With a population about 1000 (the town services about 4000 people in the general area), it is big enough to have most day to day things but rarely crowed. Note that restaurants close early, so we recommend arriving at the restaurant by 7:30, or phone ahead to be sure.

Shot Tower Historic Site
The distinctive circular tower stands 48 metres tall and was built in 1870 for the purpose of producing lead shot. Lead, with added arsenic and antimony was cast into ingots, remelted in cauldrons and then poured through colanders, forming droplets which became roughly spherical as they dropped into a tub of water at the base of the tower.
The top of the tower can be accessed via a 259 step circular staircase and offers spectacular views up, down and across the Derwent River. There is a museum at the base of the tower and a tea rooms alongside, as well as toilet facilities for the disabled...

Booking and Cancellation Policy We reserve the right to cancel or vary any trip and will incur no liability for any such cancellation or alteration. However, we will not cancel because of low bookings - we will operate the cruise with one passenger if necessary! If we cancel a trip there will be no charge to you. All year round (subject to availability) Roy Vieth is available to meet you at your accommodation or anywhere from Hobart to Bruny Island or Cockle Creek. He will show how you can achieve the best from your camera allowing you to take more creative photos.
