Bus service from Hobart to Huonville, Port Huon, Geeveston and Dover

Around 10 buses service Huonville daily, a few less to Geeveston and 2 most days to Dover. Some accommodation options are right on the bus route. Others you can catch the bus to the town and then a taxi to the accommodation. There is an airport bus that runs a frequent service to meet all flights.

​Hobart Airport, Hobart City, Huonville Supermarket, then to Huon Bush Retreats

For flight arrivals from 06:00 to 15:00, it is practical to mix bus and taxi. Flight arrivals after 17:00, bus connections are poor so taxi from airport is the practical option.
  • Ask the airport bus driver to take you to the Hobart City Franklin Square Bus Interchange where you can transfer to Huon Valley bus. 
  • Transfer from Airport Bus to Tassielink Bus to Huonville at Franklin Square.
    Pay cash only (not credit card) as you board the bus
    ( $10.40  correct as at December 2019 ) or you can pre purchase by card by phoning 1300 300 520. Ask the driver to take you to either Huonville main bus stop or Huonville Woolworths Supermarket (not the backpacker hostel).   • Get off Tassielink Bus, at Huonville Woolworths Supermarket.
    Get off the bus, cross the road and purchase your groceries.
  • Taxi to Huon Bush Retreats, approx $23 one way
    Ask at Woolworths service desk to phone the taxi 0407055761 or 0408125130. They will collect you from Woolworths Supermarket front door.
  • Huon Bush Retreats Reception
    At Reception, there will be a checkin form with your name and a map showing your accommodation. Ask the taxi to take you to your cabin or tipee, (not just dropped at Reception)
