The owner's sound like ass holes. Uncaring and spiteful ass holes. Posting this in the way they have is concerning. I would be quite worried being out in the remote bush with them.

I've just read this story and I find it hilarious - except for the poor tarentula that got sprayed and thrown in the fire. Seriously, people! You go to a beautiful preserved wildlife spot and all can you think of is filling the place with toxic chemicals? Don't you realize it is YOUR habit of using insect spray that is highly abnormal? You should stay in town if you cannot cope with nature.

I have started at Huon Bush Retreats on 2 occasions and found it to be a beautiful natural place. Contrary to what these guests say, the cabins are self contained and do have a full gas range including burners and oven, shower, toilet and a bath outdoors in nature.

What?!? These two really should've stayed home, or in the city! Just for the record- THERE ARE NO "TARANTULAS" IN TASMANIA!! Most locals who love the outdoors know that our biggest spiders are actually 'Huntsman Spiders'- large and scary looking but TOTALLY HARMLESS unless you are allergic, or a fly. They are also completely non-aggressive and will quickly try to escape if they are bothered by something bigger than themselves- I have lived here for 37 years and have never met anyone who has been bitten by one.
